I. Introduction

Formerly known as Department of Economics and Management, the School of Information adopted its current name in October, 2001. Covering the disciplines of management science and engineering, the school offers four undergraduate programs in information management & information system, computer science & technology, e-business and software engineering, 1 first-level master’s degree program in Management Science and Engineering and three second-level master’s degree programs in corporate management, management statistics, and administrative management. Information management & information system and e-business are provincial characteristic programs, while computer science & technology is a key specialty of university level; and management science & engineering as well as applied computer science are two university-level key disciplines. The school has altogether 1,200 full-time undergraduates and graduates. Among the 74 faculty and staff members, 59 are professional teachers. In the past five years (2013-2017), it has made remarkable achievements in such fields as data mining and decision support, information management and knowledge engineering, e-commerce & e-government, and information systems and IT audit. Altogether the school has more than 80 research projects, 22 of which are supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China, 44 supported by Zhejiang Provincial Natural Science/Social Science Foundation or Ministry of Education. Of the 300 academic papers published in the past three years, 150 have been published in such SCI/SSCI-indexed international journals as IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, European Journal of Operational Research, Information Sciences, Decision Support Systems and Knowledge-Based Systems.
