Prof. Dr. Thomas Wiedemann is a full professor at the faculty of Computer Science of the University of Applied Sciences, Dresden, Germany. His research focuses on simulation, creating rich internet Applications, and the applications of computer science in industry in general. He is a referee for the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) and is responsible for the international exchange programs at his school. 

报告摘要：

During the last few years JavaScript has developed from a simple supporting language inside the browser to a very powerful programming language both for client and server development. Ready to use frameworks like JQuery and NodeJS support the deveploment and allow new and very powerful applications. The main question of the lecture will be, if JavaScript will become the main programming language for web development.
